About The Position

The Groundskeeper maintains property grounds through routine landscaping and site-cleaning work. Duties include mowing and caring for lawns; trimming and edging along walkways, flower beds, and walls; pruning bushes and trees; planting bushes, flowers, and other plantings; applying lawn-care chemicals as needed; and removing snow and spreading salt. On-the-job training is provided. The position also involves maintaining mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems; removing litter and emptying trash cans; cleaning roads, parking lots, and walks to support pedestrian and vehicle safety; performing basic carpentry and painting; watering plantings with manual and automatic systems; checking equipment for safety; keeping work areas safe; and cleaning spills, including body fluids.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have a valid driver's license.
No experience is required; on-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

Maintain property grounds.
Ensure proper maintenance of mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems.
Perform landscape maintenance, including leaf removal, pruning shrubs and trees, fertilizing, lawn care, and watering.
Remove litter and empty trash cans.
Clean roads, parking lots, and walks to ensure the safety of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Perform basic carpentry and painting tasks.
Remove ice and snow from walks, roads, and lots, including applying ice melter and road sand.
Establish new plants and plantings in landscapes and through greenhouse culture.
Use manual and automatic watering systems to ensure adequate moisture for plantings.
Perform equipment safety checks and recommend necessary changes to the leader.
Maintain safe work areas during and after work projects.
Clean spills as needed, including body fluids.
