About The Position

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining visually appealing and functional outdoor spaces. The role performs lawn and landscape care, removes trash and snow, treats plant diseases, assists with irrigation work, maintains equipment, and participates in other maintenance and landscaping projects. The Groundskeeper follows safety guidelines, maintains the property in accordance with the quality assurance manual, and provides attentive, courteous, service-oriented interactions with guests. Other duties may be assigned or changed at any time.

Requirements

• Knowledge of gardening techniques.
• Working knowledge of sprinkler systems and other landscaping equipment.
• Understanding of fertilizer, pesticide, and gasoline dispensing.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly and lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, pull, reach overhead, and move safely over uneven terrain.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and to stand, bend, sit, lift, and walk.
• Ability to drive a motorized vehicle when required, including the vision and physical abilities needed to see and read signs and traffic signals.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily lawn care, including mowing, weeding, raking, trimming, watering, and seeding lawns and shrubbery.
• Follow safety guidelines when operating equipment and handling chemicals.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, trucks, golf carts, and power tools.
• Operate and maintain hand tools such as loppers, saws, and shovels.
• Use insecticides, fertilizers, and chemical sprays to treat diseases.
• Assist with irrigation audits and perform irrigation repairs.
• Participate in maintenance and landscaping projects.
• Remove snow using a shovel or snow blower.
• Perform carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Interact with guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Prioritize tasks according to importance and urgency, using thoughtful planning and decision-making.
• Maintain the property in accordance with the quality assurance manual.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, or activities as assigned.
