About The Position

Discovery Capital is seeking a part-time Grounds Maintenance Worker to assist its Maintenance Team in maintaining property conditions. The role involves keeping grounds and common areas clean, maintaining the appearance of apartment tour routes, checking exterior lighting, assisting with apartment turnovers and light maintenance, and helping address snow and ice during inclement weather. The listed pay range is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Available to work Monday through Friday, during hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Professional demeanor and ability to provide a high level of customer service.
• Valid driver's license.
• Clean background.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and heavy lifting and carrying items weighing 50 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Keep the property free of trash, debris, and animal waste.
• Wipe down trash receptacles, clean window sills, remove webs from buildings and doorways, assist with light maintenance, and complete other tasks assigned by management.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the model tour route or route to target apartments.
• Check and replace exterior lighting regularly.
• Pick up and sweep dumpster areas.
• Advise the supervisor of apartment items needing additional attention, such as ripped carpet, torn linoleum, or window or door repairs.
• Assist with apartment turnovers as directed.
• During inclement weather, remove snow and ice from property roads and walkways and apply salt or another method as needed for resident and associate safety.
• Assist with work orders as needed and within demonstrated skill areas, including light plumbing, light electrical work, carpentry, drywall repair, and painting.
