Requirements

  • Grounds or maintenance experience required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to use hand tools, automatic / electrical machinery, carts, and dollies
  • Thorough knowledge of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and OSHA compliance
  • Ability to exhibit efficient computer skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as specified by the Company and by the Company’s automobile insurance carrier
  • All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training in mechanics, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, or HVAC desired
  • Two years' experience in painting and housing / commercial refurbishment desired
  • Two years' experience in a similar maintenance position desired

Responsibilities

  • Trimming/pruning bushes
  • Planting flowers, shrubs for resident’s garden if requested
  • Assists all maintenance personnel in the short term, preventative and emergency maintenance programs for the buildings, grounds and equipment at the campus
  • Waters plants for residents
  • Assists with coordinating community committee requests
  • Ensures walkways/parking lots are clear and safe during inclement weather
  • Cleaning off cars after snow storms
  • Ensures all equipment is in safe operating order
  • Performs all work assignments and work orders in a timely, professional manner
  • Assists in periodic inspection of the community to ensure a safe environment for Team Members, residents and guests
  • Participates in and attends in-service training and education programs as scheduled
  • Assists with directing traffic, parking cars during events
  • Washing company truck, maintain inside and out
  • Assists with trash removal from buildings
  • Helps with minor inside tasks, delivering mail, packages
  • Restores vacant units to “like new” condition (including but not limited to the stripping of walls and flooring, repainting surfaces, removing carpet, replacing glass and windows, patching sheetrock, cutting and replacing interior and exterior trim, hanging doors, and replacing fixtures)
  • Checks shipments and deliveries from vendors
  • Contacts and corresponds with vendors, contractors, associates, and corporate office team as needed
