About The Position

John Knox Village is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hardworking Groundskeeper II to join our Plant Operations team! This full-time position plays an important role in maintaining the beauty, safety, and appearance of our 70-acre campus. As a Groundskeeper II, you will help ensure that our outdoor spaces remain welcoming and well-maintained for residents, visitors, and team members. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Position Summary The Groundskeeper II is responsible for maintaining campus grounds and landscaping to ensure a clean, attractive, and safe environment for residents and guests. This position operates groundskeeping equipment, performs routine landscape maintenance, assists with campus beautification efforts, and supports Plant Operations as needed.

Requirements

Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience required.
Ability to safely operate lawn mowers, golf carts, edgers, blowers, and other groundskeeping equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality grounds.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Dependable work ethic and positive attitude.
Ability to respond appropriately to urgent situations when needed.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds or more.
Ability to operate landscape equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to work outdoors for the majority of the workday.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a large campus, residential community, healthcare setting, or similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain grounds, landscaping, and outdoor common areas throughout the campus.
Perform routine raking, debris removal, and general grounds maintenance.
Police grounds and outdoor areas for litter, trash, and other hazards.
Operate groundskeeping equipment, including lawn mowers, edgers, blowers, and other landscaping tools.
Ensure equipment and tools are properly maintained and used safely.
Assist with landscape upkeep to maintain the overall appearance of the campus.
Support Plant Operations with assigned projects and tasks as needed.
Respond to urgent grounds-related situations in a timely manner.
Follow safety procedures and organizational standards while performing all duties.
Contribute to a positive and professional environment for residents, guests, and fellow team members.
