About The Position

Traders Village Houston is seeking a Grounds Supervisor to lead their Grounds Cleanup Department. This role requires a hands-on leader who can set an example for the team, perform necessary tasks, and direct a crew of 12-15 employees. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the department, maintaining cleanliness throughout the grounds, and assisting other departments as needed. The position is primarily outdoors and requires adaptability to varying work paces and environmental conditions.

Requirements

Previous supervisor experience
Valid driver's license
Ability to stand for long hours
Ability to work in the elements (heat and cold)
Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to walk long distances
Ability to speak with customers
Ability to operate a golf cart and push cart

Responsibilities

Assign employees their lunch break and designate their street(s) to clean that day.
Communicate via walkie-talkie with multiple other departments and with OPS Manager.
Operate a golf cart safely.
Assist customers as needed.
Oversee the collection of discarded cardboard boxes and trash from bins in the flea market and RV park, bringing them to the compactor.
Ensure dumpsters behind indoor restaurants are kept empty.
Manage the squeegeeing of areas with collected water.
Direct the pickup of all trash and cleaning of outdoor spills.
Check on the status of employee streets (e.g., bins overflowing, glass to sweep).
Assist the team with questions, providing help and guidance.
Assist tractor operator employees as needed.
Assist the team with raising, lowering, and storing large flags daily, and be proactive in identifying when flags are at half-mast.
Ensure the department operates smoothly with minimal reliance on the OPS manager.
Maintain team focus and self-reliance while fostering good morale.
