Port of Entry Laborer Grounds Maintenance
About The Position
PCSI is hiring a Grounds Maintenance worker to perform grounds maintenance functions across skilled and semi-skilled craft trades in support of an assigned contract. The position is based at the Port of Entry in El Paso, Texas, and reports to the Project Manager. Typical schedules are either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; the role may require work any day or time, including weekends and holidays. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of groundskeeping methods, including use of various types of lawn equipment.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and speed in work performed.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to work as a team member and develop effective working relationships with staff and clients.
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and be exposed to dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access for assigned site(s).
- Ability to climb, bend, squat, lift, and carry objects weighing 10–60 pounds; occasionally push objects up to 100 pounds; and walk for prolonged periods, up to 90% of the time.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of prior groundskeeping or landscaping experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform grounds maintenance functions in skilled and semi-skilled craft trades to support the assigned contract.
- Assist with planning, laying out, and completing modifications and repairs.
- Perform minor grounds maintenance tasks to the required level of proficiency.
- Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of grounds equipment.
- Read, understand, and complete incoming work orders.
- Follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
