About The Position

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Grounds Maintenance Worker I - Part Time. There are three current vacancies as outlined below. All vacancies may require weekend availability: One part-time, non-benefited position expected to work no more than 26 hours per week. One part-time, non-benefited, limited-term position expected to work no more than 26 hours per week. This position is approved through June 30, 2027 with the ability to extend based on Town needs. One part-time, non-benefited position at Cactus Yards, expected to work between 20-26 hours per week. The Grounds Maintenance Worker - reports to the Grounds Maintenance Worker III. The primary job duties of this position include: Performs turf maintenance cultural practices utilizing motorized equipment. Performs mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, cultivation, fertilization, watering and pruning operations Performs general landscape and cleanup duties, including trash and debris removal, graffiti removal and litter pickup. Performs tree maintenance utilizing chainsaws, stump grinders pole saws and chippers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Six months previous experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
• Valid Arizona Driver License

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations and/or ordinances
• Skill in equipment operation including multi and single deck mowers, utility vehicles, tractors and attachments including aerators, gannons, top dresser, vacuum, rotiller, etc.
• Skill in power tool operation including chainsaw, polesaw, stump grinder, auger, jackhammer, hedge trimmer, etc.
• Skill in cleaning and maintenance of facilities
• Skill in working in a team environment and have customer service skills

Responsibilities
