About The Position

Established in 1975 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly, the Capital Region Airport Commission owns and operates Richmond International Airport (RIC). The Commission directs the growth, operation and business activities of RIC and works tirelessly to ensure it continues to be an affordable option for local, regional, and out-of-state travelers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent level of education.
  • Working knowledge of modern methods of ground and utilities maintenance including cutting lawns, trimming and edging, pruning trees and shrubs, raking leaves, and removing litter.
  • Must be able to make repairs to Commission security fences, irrigation systems, and water systems including fire hydrants and storm drains.
  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines, tools and equipment which includes a motor vehicle, computer, generator, shovel, power tools, hand tools, etc.
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Internal applicants must be in their current position a minimum of (1) year with an overall satisfactory performance evaluation for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance functions on the landscaping, grounds, roads, irrigation, and utilities belonging to the Commission through use of general labor and equipment.
