About The Position
This role involves maintaining all of Airlie’s grounds under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor and Chief Engineer. Responsibilities include operating various groundskeeping equipment, assisting with building maintenance, and ensuring the property is clean and well-kept. The position requires flexibility for weekend and night work as needed, particularly due to weather conditions.
Requirements
- Experience on commercial equipment such as zero turn mowers and other power equipment for the purpose of grounds work and building clean up.
- Must be able to work weekends and nights if required due to weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Mowing and trimming of grounds on a weekly basis using commercial zero turn mowers
- Weed eating, trimming and brush removal
- Daily cleaning all walkways and decks of debris using leaf blower and brooms removing grass and debris
- Leaf cleanup
- Working to cleanup trees and cut wood for fireplaces
- Cutting up trees and limbs using chainsaws, wood splitting machine and hand malls
- Hauling and stacking wood in storage areas and distributing to buildings for fireplaces
- Assisting with some degree of building maintenance
- Digging trenches for the purpose of assisting to bury pipe, wiring and making repairs
- Moving of furniture when needed to assist when rooms and building are being remodeled
- Assisting with guest services
- Luggage service
- Snow removal from walkways and roads, sanding and de-icing
- Setting and lighting of fireplaces in meeting rooms
