About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the campground is spotless, safe, and ready for fun. Daily tasks include hauling trash, checking playgrounds, and performing light maintenance and tidying up. The position offers on-the-job training for those with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. It is ideal for individuals who enjoy fresh air, staying busy, and contributing to memorable guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors and be physically active all day.
  • Positive and helpful attitude.
  • Willingness to get hands dirty.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging conditions (heat, dust, chaos).
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to complete tasks.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn on the job.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending, climbing, crouching, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Experience using tools and light equipment.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, or landscaping.
  • Experience with a leaf blower, shovel, or paintbrush.
  • Comfort with technology (radios, phones, apps).
  • Ability to make guests smile through friendly interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Empty trash bins around the campground, bathrooms, office, and public spaces.
  • Replace trash liners and ensure lids are secure.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs to pick up litter.
  • Check playground equipment for loose parts or sharp edges.
  • Maintain playground cleanliness by pulling weeds and wiping down equipment.
  • Assist with light maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, and landscaping.
  • Support larger maintenance projects.
  • Deliver firewood to campsites.
  • Pump propane (with training provided).
  • Provide guest service by smiling, waving, and answering camper questions.
  • Manage and maintain the standards and cleanliness of the campground's physical grounds.
  • Engage in positive and friendly interactions with guests and team members.
  • Promote the KOA system by referring guests to other KOA locations.
