About The Position

This position performs heavy manual cleaning work in and around buildings and grounds and maintains landscaping at multiple sites throughout the School District. The role includes routine custodial duties, school grounds maintenance, assistance with facilities setup and parts-room tasks, and completion of required paperwork.

Requirements

Completion of eighth grade, with proof if attainable, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid Florida Driver's License is required to work on county-wide mowing teams.
Must pass all required Department of Transportation requirements.
Some knowledge of methods and equipment used in custodial tasks.
Knowledge of grounds equipment and proper landscape processes.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to work continuous hours while standing.
Ability to learn routine custodial and grounds duties.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual/biliterate.

Responsibilities

Empty trash containers and other receptacles.
Dust ledges, furniture, lights, and similar surfaces.
Replace spent light bulbs; strip, clean, burnish, and finish hard-surface floors.
Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Clean and disinfect drinking fountains.
Help maintain clean, safe, and sanitary toilet, shower, and dining-room facilities, including refilling restroom dispensers.
Wash walls, windows, and glass surfaces.
Maintain school grounds, including mowing grass, edging, and trimming weeds and trees.
Perform duties within the scope of capabilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Follow instructions for proper use and mixing of chemicals and supplies.
Assist parts-room personnel with stacking crates, boxes, and similar items.
Assist with setting up facilities for meetings, classrooms, and events.
Complete all required DOT and District paperwork accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
