About The Position

This role involves cutting metal material using a 6-foot torch in a scrap metal recycling environment. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, including Hot Work Policy and Emergency Action Plan, and efficient production. Responsibilities include setting up the cutting area, managing oxy-fuel stations, changing gas cylinders, wearing appropriate PPE, maintaining equipment and the work area, and performing regular cleanup.

Requirements

Experience Cutting with a 6 feet Torch is required
Only cutting metal material with a 6 feet Torch
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions

Responsibilities

Setting up the cutting area for Hot Work Policy, Emergency Action Plan, and efficient cutting production
Setup Oxy-fuel station position, regulator adjustments, hose safety and torch condition
Change out compressed gas cylinders when required
Wear the required PPE
Maintenance and housekeeping of the entire torch cutting area
Inspect the safety of the equipment
Use common cutting techniques that conserve torch parts and maximize production
Clean up work area at the end of shift
Keep work areas neat and orderly
Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members
Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.
