About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Ground Systems Software Integration Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisor support to a government program office overseeing ground-element command and control activities for a major space-system acquisition. The ground segment includes command and control software, customized hardware, automated data processing equipment, and network integration. The role provides System Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) subject matter expertise to help ensure software development proceeds on schedule and within cost. Work includes software development reviews, testing oversight, analysis, and requirements verification across bare-metal and virtual environments. The position primarily supports the government at a factory location, overseeing software development, integration, and testing, and is located in El Segundo, California. The engineer supports the software acquisition lifecycle, from requirements identification and development through system test, sell-off, delivery, and installation at multiple sites. The role reviews and coordinates ground-system requirements and technical documentation, supports acceptance testing, evaluates developer verification data, and identifies program risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies. It also involves coordinating testing and installations across geographically diverse and overseas sites, working with contractors and government stakeholders, and supporting facilities teams with site surveys, equipment installation, and long-term maintenance.
