Requirements

Completed High School Diploma or GED
Valid US Driver's License
2+ years in aircraft ground handling and common maintenance practices, Precision Measuring Equipment, Publications, Diagrams, Sketches, and Drawings
Ground Support Equipment Mechanics shall be a CDI with the capability of performing all tasks on all systems.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) CAC (Commons Access Card)

Responsibilities

Obtain and maintain designation as a Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) for the below Support Equipment.
Acquire designation/certification as Hydraulic Contamination, HAZMAT, Tire and Wheel certification, and certifications as deemed necessary by the COR.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and squadron SEPMS assigned to the MALS for repair and/or inspections.
Inspect, Diagnose, and Test GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
Clean and treats for corrosion.
Service equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air.
Diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications.
Stencils and marks GSE by technical publications.
Train and advise contractors and other workers on diagnosis and repair maintenance problems.
Test, troubleshoot, install, remove, inspect, and repair, align/rig systems components and ancillary equipment as directed by the work center supervisor for the specified Ground Support Equipment.
