Requirements

  • Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) consecutive years experience within the last six (6) years in aircraft ground support equipment maintenance, including SE corrosion detection, treatment and prevention, performing maintenance on ground support equipmen, utilizing tools, blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and normal safety requirements.
  • Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces Ground Support Equipment schools, USMC MOS 6073 Aviation Support Equipment Specialist, Aviation Support Equipment Intermediate Level Course (C-602-2026B), Support Equipment & Refridgeration Intermediate Maintenance Course (C-602-7032), USN AS Aviation Support Equipment Technician, Air Force 2A6X2- Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) or other schools with equivalent curriculum required.
  • Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
  • Must have a valid Drivers license
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) CAC (Commons Access Card)

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to become Ground Run certified.
  • Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) (may be required)

Responsibilities

  • Performs aircraft ground support equipment maintenance to include operational test, repair, modification and replacement of aircraft ground support equipment systems.
  • Applies technical knowledge to solve problems and to provide technical assistance as required.
  • Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft ground support equipment systems and SE Planned Maintenance Systems Program.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of ground support equipment systems.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention and treatment of corrosion.
  • Performs the troubleshooting of ground support equiment systems, subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
  • Performs aircraft ground support equipment inventory, acceptance and transfer inspections.
  • Provides technical assistance and guidance as required by the position.
  • May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
  • Maintain assigned aircraft in accordance with Navy, Manufacturer and Company Instructions.
  • Use provided test equipment and Ground Support Equipment to perform assigned tasks.
  • Read, interpret, and apply instructions from Blueprints, schematics and other approved data.
  • Assist with ordering parts, tools, materials and equipment as required.
  • Document work accomplished on Maintenance Action Forms (MAF) or NALCOMIS System.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for adhering to Company Tool Control Program.
  • Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities and job assignment.
  • Ensure proper operation and use of special test equipment and Ground Support Equipment.
  • Maintain Appropriate records of all work accomplished.
  • May be required to perform simple computer input functions.
  • Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing and able to stand rotating shifts.
  • Must be able to travel 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary security clearances required for this position.
  • Familiarization with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Series and other applicable Navy Instructions, Manufacturer Manuals and Company Instructions.
  • May be required to become Ground Run certified.
  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
  • Knowledge of materials used and safety precautions as applicable to usage.
  • Must have valid state operators license and be able to pass the Government licensing requirements.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.
