Grooming Manager
About The Position
Sparkle Grooming Co. is seeking an experienced, service-driven Grooming Manager to lead a high-performing salon team. This is a hands-on leadership role for a confident groomer who takes pride in their craft and works well in a team-driven environment. The manager oversees daily salon operations, supports a positive culture, and ensures services are delivered safely, consistently, and to a high standard. Sparkle is an AKC S.A.F.E. Salon Certified provider committed to safety, quality, and professionalism. Its membership-based model provides recurring clients, allowing the team to build lasting relationships with pets and their people. The role combines grooming services with team leadership, training, customer service, and responsibility for monthly sales and membership goals.
Requirements
- Four to six years of professional grooming experience.
- Experience running full-service grooming salons, including sales and inventory.
- Strong ability to teach grooming skills to others.
- Strong knowledge of individual breed standards and breed cuts.
- Use of proper scissoring techniques.
- Experience in customer service and conflict resolution.
Responsibilities
- Onboard new groomers, ensure completion of training requirements, evaluate grooming quality, and provide ongoing learning opportunities.
- Perform dog grooming services to breed standards and client preferences, and hold the grooming team to those standards.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of every pet and associate in the salon, taking immediate action when necessary.
- Assist in setting and achieving monthly sales and membership goals.
- Coach and develop the team to recommend services and products based on business needs.
- Hold the team accountable for monthly sales and membership goals.
- Maintain pet hygiene by clipping nails, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears.
- Keep workstations clean by sanitizing and sweeping before each pet arrives and at the end of each workday.
- Advise owners on at-home care tips and best practices for their pets.
- Communicate with pet parents about their pets and resolve customer service issues.
