About The Position

Pet Supplies Plus is hiring experienced Groomers to provide grooming services and neighborly customer service to pets and their owners. The role includes brushing, bathing, conditioning, and styling pets according to owners’ instructions or breed standards while prioritizing each pet’s wellness and safety. Groomers build relationships with pet parents, recommend relevant products and services, help attract new customers through community outreach, and maintain a clean, inviting grooming environment. They also support store team members during grooming downtime and continue developing their grooming skills. This is a commission-based role with a guaranteed minimum; maximum pay may vary according to hours worked and weekly completed grooming services. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered to new Groomer hires with at least one year of experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of grooming experience, with formal training certification and/or experience under an established certified groomer.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to provide personal grooming equipment, such as clippers, blades, and scissors.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass drug screening in applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Provide grooming services, including brushing, bathing, and conditioning.
• Groom and style pets according to owners’ instructions and/or breed standards.
• Ensure the wellness and safety of pets receiving services.
• Build long-term relationships with pet parents by understanding their needs and recommending products and services.
• Conduct community outreach to attract new customers to the store.
• Successfully complete Safety Training certification.
• Perform routine cleaning to maintain a fun and inviting grooming environment.
• Assist store team members during grooming downtime.
• Continue developing grooming skills and techniques while growing a career.
