About The Position

The Grocery Stocker helps maintain guest service and departmental operations in the grocery department. The role stocks, rotates, and conditions grocery products; maintains orderly and safe sales-floor and backroom areas; assists with deliveries; and supports front-end operations as needed. The position also involves inventory control, sanitation, communicating temperature issues for dairy and frozen foods, and ordering aisle products when assigned by management.

Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 pounds constantly and 60 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of grocery operations.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push and pull stock carts, and operate a pallet jack for extended periods.
Employees under 18 may not operate an electric pallet jack or baler, or use a box cutter.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with guests and co-workers.
Stock, rotate, and condition grocery products on shelves according to Lowes Foods standards and productivity guidelines.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop without agitation.
Keep backstock organized and inventoried in the backroom.
Minimize damage and shrink through inventory control, shelf and overstock rotation, and proper product handling.
Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise upon delivery to the store.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.
Communicate dairy and frozen-food temperature problems to a supervisor.
Perform front-end duties as necessary to maintain the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Order products for aisles as assigned by management.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
