About The Position

The Grocery Stocker helps maintain guest service and departmental operations in the grocery department. The role stocks, rotates, and conditions grocery products, maintains safe and organized sales-floor and backroom areas, and supports inventory control and merchandise deliveries. It may also include ordering products for assigned aisles and performing front-end duties as needed.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. constantly and 60 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of grocery operations.
Willingness and ability to learn multiple tasks and technical job requirements.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push and pull stock carts, and operate a pallet jack for extended periods.
Employees under 18 may not operate an electric pallet jack or baler, or use a box cutter.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with guests and co-workers.
Stock, rotate, and condition grocery products on shelves according to Lowes Foods standards and productivity guidelines.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop without agitation.
Keep backstock organized and inventoried in the backroom.
Minimize damage and shrink through inventory control, product rotation, and proper handling.
Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise upon delivery.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.
Communicate temperature problems in dairy and frozen food to a supervisor.
Perform front-end duties as needed to maintain the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Order products for assigned aisles as directed by management.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
