About The Position

The Grocery Stocker works in a part-time role at IGA Market, stocking and maintaining grocery products and supporting store operations. The position involves interacting politely with guests and hosts, keeping the sales floor and backroom safe, neat, organized, and sanitary, and following Floco Foods standards and productivity guidelines. The stocker may assist with deliveries, order products for assigned aisles, communicate temperature problems in dairy and frozen foods, and perform front-end duties as needed to maintain the store’s “no noticeable wait” standard. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 pounds constantly and 60 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of grocery operations.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push and pull stock carts, and operate a pallet jack for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with all guests and hosts.
Stock, rotate, and condition grocery products on shelves according to Floco Foods standards and productivity guidelines.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop without agitation.
Maintain organized, inventoried backstock in the backroom.
Minimize damage and shrink through inventory control, rotation of shelves and overstock, and proper product handling.
Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise upon delivery to the store.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.
Communicate temperature problems in dairy and frozen foods to a supervisor.
Perform front-end duties as necessary to uphold and maintain the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Order products for aisles as assigned by management.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
