About The Position

The Grocery Stocker ensures that Lowes Foods guest service and grocery department operations are maintained. The role stocks and maintains grocery products, supports inventory control and merchandise receiving, keeps work areas safe and sanitary, and assists with front-end duties as needed.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 40 pounds constantly and 60 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of grocery operations.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push and pull stock carts, and operate a pallet jack for extended periods.
Employees under 18 may not operate an electric pallet jack or baler, or use a box cutter.

Responsibilities

Provide polite, friendly interactions with guests and co-workers.
Stock, rotate, and condition grocery products on shelves according to Lowes Foods standards and productivity guidelines.
Maintain a neat and safe work area so guests can shop without agitation.
Keep backstock organized and inventoried in the backroom.
Minimize damage and shrink through proper inventory control, product rotation, and product handling.
Assist with unloading and verifying merchandise deliveries.
Maintain sanitation standards on the sales floor and in the backroom.
Communicate temperature problems involving dairy and frozen food to a supervisor.
Perform front-end duties as necessary to uphold the “no noticeable wait” standard.
Order products for assigned aisles as directed by management.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
