Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous grocery or retail experience preferred, leadership experience a plus.
Strong communication and organization skills.
Ability to influence and motivate others in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented and dependable with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Physical ability to lift, bend, push, and move products throughout the shift.
Commitment to teamwork, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead and motivate team members in the daily operation of the grocery department.
Maintain stocked, organized, and well-merchandised aisles to Meijer standards.
Oversee product ordering, receiving, rotation, and dating policies to ensure freshness.
Assign and monitor daily tasks to support productivity and exceptional service.
Train, coach, and develop team members to achieve department goals.
Partner with leadership on scheduling, customer engagement, and sales improvement.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive team culture aligned with Meijer’s values.
Operate powered equipment or assist at checkout when needed.
Participate in period-end inventory and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
Support cross-training and serve as a leader in other departments when needed.
