Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous grocery or retail experience preferred, leadership experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to influence and motivate others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented and dependable with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, push, and move products throughout the shift.
  • Commitment to teamwork, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate team members in the daily operation of the grocery department.
  • Maintain stocked, organized, and well-merchandised aisles to Meijer standards.
  • Oversee product ordering, receiving, rotation, and dating policies to ensure freshness.
  • Assign and monitor daily tasks to support productivity and exceptional service.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to achieve department goals.
  • Partner with leadership on scheduling, customer engagement, and sales improvement.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive team culture aligned with Meijer’s values.
  • Operate powered equipment or assist at checkout when needed.
  • Participate in period-end inventory and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Support cross-training and serve as a leader in other departments when needed.
