About The Position
The Grocery Retail Associate (Store Clerk) supports daily store operations and delivers a positive shopping experience for customers. The role includes cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and assisting customers throughout the store. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. This associate performs assigned duties under the direction of store or department leadership and does not have supervisory or managerial authority. Additional duties may be assigned to support business needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior retail or grocery experience.
- Cash-handling or POS experience.
- Tailor messaging to meet the needs of diverse customers and team members.
- Take initiative and complete work with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to reach, bend, balance, lift, and carry items weighing 20–50 pounds regularly; items over 50 pounds require a coordinated team lift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and twist for extended periods.
- Ability to push and pull carts and equipment.
- Ability to work around cold, heat, and cleaning chemicals.

- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities
- Operate a cash register accurately and follow checkout and cash-handling procedures for cash, credit/debit, EBT, WIC, gift cards, coupons, and checks.
- Promote customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and addressing complaints and feedback effectively.
- Report to scheduled shifts on time and prepared to work.
- Stock, rotate, and maintain merchandise in grocery, frozen, dairy, meat, and produce departments.
- Assist with unloading delivery trucks and organizing products.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized store conditions, including the sales floor, restrooms, backroom, displays, and parking lot.
- Retrieve shopping carts and maintain entrance areas.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Ensure product signage, pricing, and displays meet standards.
- Support other departments and complete additional duties as assigned.
- Adhere to the uniform dress code.
