About The Position

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor established quality assurance standards. Support the Customer 1st strategy by encouraging excellent customer service and demonstrate the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
• Maintain knowledge of department products and answer questions or make suggestions about them.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of grocery specials.
• Check product quality and freshness, review sell-by dates, and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise, and provide customers with fresh products they ordered.
• Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
• Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
• Follow safety procedures, reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
• Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate manager of items needing repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
