About The Position

The Living Well Grocery Manager is primarily responsible for guest relations and satisfaction, overseeing all products and activities within the Living Well Grocery department. Their main priority is delivering Ultimate Service through sales, guest service, and overall department operations. This includes answering questions, guiding guests to products, proactive selling, cross-selling, and providing product information and education.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work the scheduled work shift as needed to meet the needs of store guests and team members.
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner.
  • Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform all other physical aspects of the position including but not limited to bending, squatting, standing, lifting at a height of 5 feet, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email).
  • Ability to work at a fast-paced, but efficient and controlled manner.
  • Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Must attend meetings, including out-of-town, requiring overnight stays.
  • Must be able to transfer to another store within the area.
  • Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
  • Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the area or department.
  • Hiring, training, and performance management of team members.
  • Communication and information distribution to the entire department.
  • Maintaining a positive atmosphere, spirit, and morale within the department.
  • Demonstrating effective leadership by managing time and delegation.
  • Developing team members and future leaders.
  • Supporting and executing division concepts and programs.
  • Executing and meeting financial goals.
  • Identifying areas of opportunity within the store and department.
  • Ensuring quality and consistent product availability and solutions for guests.
  • Safeguarding, controlling, and monitoring all department assets, ensuring policy implementation.
  • Practicing safe work habits, maintaining store cleanliness, organization, and a safe work environment.
  • Overseeing consistent and correct utilization of department systems and processes.
  • Directing meetings with department leadership to plan production and promotion goals.
  • Verifying team member schedules against business needs.
  • Coaching and disciplining team members as necessary, in accordance with policy and procedures, with Talent Management support.
  • Verifying that all books and manuals are kept updated.
  • Overseeing inventory process and reporting.
  • Overseeing adherence to Food Safety Procedures.
  • Approving all purchase orders and maintaining adequate stock levels.
  • Implementing and maintaining display/end cap programs.
  • Staying current with new products and trends.
  • Encouraging guest usage of the Health notes computer.
  • Educating guests and team members about products.
  • Maintaining stock levels and ensuring shelves are stocked with merchandise and back stock items.
  • Ensuring proper rotation procedures are enforced.
  • Ensuring all tags are properly placed and in good condition.
  • Demonstrating good conflict management skills.
  • Performing other duties assigned by upper management.
