About The Position

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Grocery Clerk at our St. Norbert Food Store located at 3477 Pembina Hwy, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position reports to the Grocery Manager. The Grocery Clerk adds value to our Co-operative by providing world-class customer service that is fast, friendly and efficient.

Requirements

Open availability and willing to work different shifts including early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be trained to operate a pallet jack.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a retail grocery department is preferred but not required.
Leadership and problem solving skills would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Maintain sections of merchandise (non-perishable food, dairy, frozen food, general merchandise, health and beauty, bulk food) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Grocery Manager.
Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperature-controlled environment.
Ensure the Grocery Department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
Assist in building mass and bunk end displays as required.
Present a neat, clean, fresh, well-merchandised department and related work areas (sales floor, end caps, coolers, freezers, receiving area, warehouse, etc.).
Act as Person in Charge on occasion, assisting with resolving problems that arise, such as customer complaints, and staffing issues.
