About The Position

The Grinding Specialist sets up, operates, and adjusts grinders to perform surface and cylindrical grinding operations and/or rough grinding of main and pin bearings on crankshafts. The classification also includes cylindrical honing machines, an automatic crankshaft superfinisher, and systems such as an automatic valve guide line. This supplemental position is located in Building LL in East Peoria and requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. Available schedules are second shift, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., or third shift, Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Work hours may change based on business needs, and employees must be able to work any shift. Pay is $23.22 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential. Required personal protective equipment is provided, including safety glasses with prescription options; safety boot reimbursement is available. Relocation assistance is not offered. Supplemental employees receive up to 40 hours of paid time off and have limited benefits available.
