About The Position

Provisur is hiring a Grinder to ensure parts meet client standards for rough and finishing processes. The role involves polishing, buffing, and sandblasting steel and stainless-steel materials, including fabricated sheet metal, machined items, and welded items. The position pays $39.28 per hour, including shift differential, and works second shift on a four-day, ten-hour schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Grinder operates polishing tools and abrasives to remove scratches, tool marks, excess weld material, sharp edges, and burrs. The role also polishes heat-treated parts to achieve specified smooth, consistent, unmarred surfaces and uses blueprints to understand product specifications. Sandblasting is performed to prepare parts for final polishing and to achieve specified finishes. Requirements

Ability to operate large and small angle grinders, belt sanders, die grinders, orbital sanders, drum sanders, hand files, and other tools.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to maintain tolerances and finishes to specifications.

Responsibilities

Operate polishing tools and abrasives on workpiece surfaces to remove scratches, tool marks, excess weld material, sharp edges, and burrs.
Polish heat-treated parts to achieve a smooth, consistent, unmarred surface and specified finish.
Read blueprints for product specifications, including dimensions, material type and size, finish callout, and material hardness.
Operate a sand blaster to prepare parts for final polishing and finish sandblasted parts to achieve the specified finish.
