About The Position

The Grinder Level 1 is responsible for operating grinding equipment and performing precision machining operations to exact customer specifications. This position requires the ability to maintain extremely tight tolerances, read technical drawings, perform quality inspections, and support a safe, organized manufacturing environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum two (2) years of machining experience
Experience with precision grinding operations
Ability to maintain tight tolerances up to ±0.0001
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and customer specifications
Familiarity with GD&T
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience using precision measuring instruments
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Commitment to safety, quality, and 5S principles
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

Perform precision machining operations including surface grinding and OD/ID grinding to exact specifications
Maintain tolerances as tight as ±0.0001 according to customer requirements and Measurement Control Equipment (MCE) methods
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements
Conduct first-piece inspections and complete quality documentation
Utilize inspection equipment and digital optical measuring tools
Use hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tooling
Perform preventive maintenance activities
Support 5S initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work area
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
