About The Position

The Grill Master (Cook) creates a “Best in Class” guest experience at El Pollo Loco by preparing grilled and hot food items according to precise company standards for preparation and presentation. The role involves preparing chicken and other grilled proteins, maintaining product quality and serving temperatures, and keeping the work area clean and sanitized. Previous customer service or food service experience is preferred but not required. The position may be full-time or part-time, with no overnight hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, marinate, season, cook, stock, and rotate chicken and other grilled proteins according to company standards.
• Receive orders, cut cooked chicken, and arrange proteins for proper presentation on plates or in applicable packaging.
• Monitor holding time for grilled proteins and take corrective action when hold time expires or product quality does not meet company standards.
• Ensure cooked proteins are at the proper serving temperature.
• Inspect raw chicken and other proteins for acceptable quality before marinating or grilling.
• Clean and sanitize the work area, including equipment, tools, storage containers, grills, and hoods.
