About The Position

The Grill Master (Cook) creates a “Best in Class” guest experience at El Pollo Loco by preparing grilled and hot food items according to precise company standards for preparation and presentation. The role involves preparing and serving grilled proteins while maintaining product quality, food safety, and a clean work area. Previous customer service or food service experience is preferred but not required. The posting describes full-time or part-time hours, flexible scheduling, and no overnight hours. Responsibilities

Prepare, marinate, season, cook, stock, and rotate chicken and other grilled proteins according to company standards.
Receive orders, cut cooked chicken, and arrange proteins for proper presentation on plates or in applicable packaging.
Monitor holding times for grilled proteins and take corrective action when holding time expires or product quality does not meet company standards.
Ensure cooked proteins are at the proper serving temperature.
Inspect raw chicken and other proteins for acceptable quality before marinating or grilling.
Clean and sanitize the work area, including equipment, tools, storage containers, grills, and hoods.
