About The Position

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to apply skills and talents at Xcel Energy, a company focused on challenging employees and providing opportunities for learning and growth. Interns will support the Grid Analyst team by testing and revising critical documentation to improve its accuracy and usability for ongoing operations. They will also assist with data clean-up for the ADMS Network Model and help develop automated solutions for Grid Analyst instantiation data processes. The intern's support will lead to more reliable documentation, higher-quality data, reduced manual effort, and increased efficiency in key grid operations workflows. This position has a start date of May 24th, 2027, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

Requirements

• Current student, Senior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in GIS, Comp Sci, Data Engineering
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week)
• Commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a previous internship in a related field
• 3.5 or above GPA in a related field
• Proven ability to balance studies with a part time job
• Coursework: geoprocessing, database, cartography
