Requirements

  • Ability to read and write in order to communicate and give instructions to patients
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgement skills.
  • Telephone skills.
  • Ability to read and write in order to communicate and give verbal instructions to patients
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients/visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assists patients in/out of vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Directs patients/visitors to the appropriate departments and accurately answer patients’ questions.
  • Works harmoniously with volunteers and medical personnel to ensure a steady supply of wheelchairs at front doors through the day.
  • Maintains assigned entrances in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Participates in activities for personnel development and required training.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
  • Reports any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct; patient/employee safety, patient privacy, and/or other compliance-related concerns.
