About The Position

Under general supervision, the Greenskeeper performs semi-skilled and manual labor tasks to maintain a golf course. The role requires operating specified mowing equipment and performing a variety of groundskeeping and cleaning tasks. The employee must work during inclement weather and is considered weather-essential personnel.

Requirements

• Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
• Ability to operate and repair small/light equipment, including power and hand tools, shovels, mops, wrenches, and brooms.
• Ability to operate and repair medium equipment and machinery, including a pickup, tractor, and hydraulic mowing equipment such as greensmowers, fringe and tee mowers, and fairway units.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work during inclement weather.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and respond to after-hours call backs.
• Ability to arrive at work in the early morning.

Responsibilities

• Mow greens, fairways, tees, fringes, and roughs.
• Service ball washers.
• Change cups on greens.
• Clean restrooms.
• Perform touch-up painting as needed.
• Pick up trash.
• Trim trees.
• Plant grass.
• Mow various areas of the greens with a push mower.
• Water trees.
• Spot-water the golf course by hand and radio.
• Spread fertilizer.
• Rake and detail bunkers.
• Prepare and lay sod.
• Perform weed eating and edging.
• Clean up brush.
• Assist with course improvement projects.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
