About The Position

The Greenskeeper maintains the aesthetics and playability of the golf course by performing a diverse range of golf course maintenance activities. The role uses power and hand tools, and operates and maintains utility vehicles and equipment in accordance with standards and safety guidelines. The Greenskeeper also delivers the resort’s “I Am Proud” service standards and department-specific signature touch points, and supports clear communication and teamwork across departments. The position involves maintaining golf course areas and landscaping, assisting with small irrigation and drainage projects, and keeping the shop clean and organized. Team members are expected to provide attentive, extraordinary guest and member service; uphold the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club’s brand, culture, vision, mission, and values; follow company policies and safety guidelines; and help resolve problems when they arise. The position requires continuous teamwork and internal and cross-departmental communication. Daily pre-shift meetings and stand-ups are held, with occasional one-on-one coaching sessions. Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather and around chemicals, machinery, motorized equipment, uneven surfaces, fumes, noise, and temperature or humidity extremes.

Requirements

Basic employment skills in clerical, service, or manual areas.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work continuously as part of a team and communicate internally and across departments.

Previous golf maintenance experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain the golf course using power and hand tools, including mowing, weeding, edging, course setup, raking bunkers, blowing, installing sod, fertilizing, and planting flowers and shrubs.
Operate and maintain utility vehicles and equipment while following standards and safety guidelines.
Mow greens, tees, fairways, approaches, step cuts, and rough.
Rake sand bunkers by hand or with a power rake.
String trim around trees, bunkers, flowerbeds, signs, and ball washers.
Set up the golf course and maintain flowerbeds.
Aerate greens, tees, fairways, approaches, and rough.
Assist with small irrigation and drainage projects.
Edge cart paths, bunkers, irrigation heads, flowerbeds, and yardage stones.
Maintain daily shop upkeep and cleanliness, and keep equipment and the work environment organized and professional.
Greet guests, members, and team members according to “I Am Proud” standards and provide extraordinary, attentive service.
Use the LEARN Model to address feedback, make things right when problems occur, and give guests and members a fond farewell.
Embrace and demonstrate wellness and the STRATA virtues, and uphold the resort’s brand, culture, vision, mission, and values.
Communicate and collaborate continuously with teammates and other departments, offering assistance when needed.
