About The Position

The Greenskeeper maintains the aesthetics and playability of the golf course by performing a diverse range of golf course maintenance activities. The role uses power and hand tools and includes mowing, weeding, edging, golf course setup, raking sand bunkers, blowing, sod installation, fertilizing, and planting flowers and shrubs. The Greenskeeper also operates and maintains utility vehicles and equipment in accordance with standards and safety guidelines. The position requires continuous teamwork and internal and cross-departmental communication. The Greenskeeper provides service consistent with the resort’s “I Am Proud” standards and “Enriching by Nature” approach, supports wellness and STRATA virtues, upholds the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club’s brand, culture, vision, mission, and values, and helps resolve problems and address feedback using the LEARN Model. Work may take place indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather and around chemicals, machinery, motorized equipment, and uneven surfaces. The role involves physical activities including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling, and lifting and carrying loads of up to 70 pounds. Requirements

Basic employment skills in clerical, service, or manual areas.
Valid driver’s license.
Continuous teamwork and internal and cross-departmental communication.
Ability to perform the physical and environmental duties described, including lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds and working outdoors, potentially in inclement weather.

Nice To Haves

Previous golf maintenance experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain the golf course using power and hand tools, including mowing, weeding, edging, course setup, raking bunkers, blowing, installing sod, fertilizing, and planting flowers and shrubs.
Operate and maintain utility vehicles and equipment in accordance with standards and safety guidelines.
Mow greens, tees, fairways, approaches, step cuts, and rough.
Rake sand bunkers by hand or with a power rake.
String trim around trees, bunkers, flowerbeds, signs, and ball washers.
Set up the golf course and maintain flowerbeds.
Aerate greens, tees, fairways, approaches, and rough.
Assist with small irrigation and drainage projects.
Edge cart paths, bunkers, irrigation heads, flowerbeds, and yardage stones.
Maintain daily shop upkeep and cleanliness.
Greet guests, members, and team members according to “I Am Proud” standards and set a positive tone for interactions.
Provide extraordinary service consistent with “Enriching by Nature” and give guests and members a fond farewell.
