About The Position

Gotham Greens seeks passionate, driven, hardworking individuals to work in its greenhouse. Greenhouse Production Assistants perform hands-on, manual labor-intensive work. Prior experience in the natural and organic food industry is a plus but is not required. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized individual to join a rapidly growing company in the food system.

Requirements

Be authorized to work in the U.S.
Be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work efficiently and pay attention to detail.
Have reliable transportation.
Have open availability to work various schedules, including holidays and weekends.

Prior experience in the natural and organic food industry.

Responsibilities

Operate seeding machines as part of seeding duties.
Transplant seedlings according to quality standards.
Identify and cull plants with pests or disease.
Harvest mature plants.
Move and rearrange growing equipment as needed.
Assist with loading and unloading greenhouse materials.
Compost unused plants.
Assist with daily cleaning of production areas, equipment, and supplies.
Assist with periodic cleaning of facility common areas.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), company food safety and employee safety policies, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
Perform additional duties as assigned.
