About The Position

The Greehey School of Business at St. Mary's University invites applications for the Greehey Chair in Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, an endowed professorship beginning August 1, 2027. The Greehey Chair is charged with advancing St. Mary's as a national leader in ethics-driven business education, research, and practice. The successful candidate will provide intellectual and strategic leadership to elevate the visibility, impact, and integration of business ethics and corporate social responsibility across academic programs, scholarly initiatives, and external partnerships. This is a unique opportunity for a distinguished scholar to shape the direction of ethics education and scholarship, build influential programs, and position the Greehey School as a recognized hub for thought leadership and engagement in responsible business.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Management or a closely related business discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution
  • Appointment at the rank of Professor at the time of hire
  • A sustained record of high-impact scholarly research in peer-reviewed journals
  • Evidence of a national or international scholarly reputation in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, leadership, or a related field
  • Demonstrated success in securing external funding, leading initiatives, or building academic or professional programs
  • A strong record of teaching excellence across undergraduate and graduate levels

Responsibilities

  • Providing thought leadership that enhances the School's national reputation in business ethics and corporate social responsibility
  • Leading the integration of cutting-edge ethics content across undergraduate and graduate curricula
  • Building and sustaining high-impact research initiatives, including interdisciplinary collaborations and externally funded projects
  • Serving as a visible ambassador for the School through keynote presentations, public scholarship, and engagement with academic, corporate, and nonprofit communities
  • Designing and leading a signature conference or convening that establishes St. Mary's as a national platform for dialogue on ethics and corporate responsibility
  • Cultivating strategic partnerships with businesses, schools, and nonprofit organizations locally and nationally
  • Mentoring faculty and contributing to the development of a vibrant scholarly community in ethics and responsible management
  • Contributing meaningfully to the mission-driven culture of St. Mary's University and the Marianist tradition
