About The Position

The Gray Media Training Program is a 10-week immersive experience designed to train the next generation of media professionals in producing, reporting, weather forecasting, and sales. Participants will engage in real-world assignments, create digital content, collaborate with experienced professionals, and build a professional portfolio. The program offers a fast track to full-time career opportunities within Gray Media's network of stations.

Requirements

Current enrollment as a college student (Junior or Senior status preferred).
Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, News, Sports, or a related field.
A "doer" mindset with initiative and a willingness to work.
Understanding of multi-platform media (digital, social, web).
Strong work ethic, including urgency, organization, and a "can-do" attitude.
Effective communication skills for storytelling, pitching, and explaining.
Reliability and commitment to the full 10-week program and 25-hour weekly schedule.
Passion for local communities and the impact of local media.

Responsibilities

Own the role: Step into the shoes of a producer, MMJ, meteorologist, or media sales executive and handle real-world assignments.
Drive digital engagement: Create content for social media, streaming apps, and web stories.
Collaborate with pros: Work side-by-side with seasoned veterans.
Commit to the craft: Dedicate 25 hours per week for 10 weeks to mastering your specialty and building a professional-grade portfolio.
