About The Position

The Gray Media Training Program is a 10-week immersive experience designed to train the next generation of media professionals, including producers, reporters, weather experts, and sales executives. Participants will engage in real-world assignments, create digital content, collaborate with experienced professionals, and build a professional portfolio. The program aims to provide hands-on experience and position interns for potential full-time career opportunities within Gray Media's network.

Requirements

Current enrollment as a college student (Junior or Senior status preferred).
Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
A "doer" mindset with the ability to take initiative.
Understanding that media exists across multiple platforms (screen to hand).
Strong work ethic, urgency, organization, and a "can-do" attitude.
Clear and confident communication skills.
Commitment to the full 10-week program and the 25-hour weekly schedule.
Passion for the community and local media.
College students, seniors preferred, earning a degree in Journalism/Communications, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Sports, News, or related fields.
Desire to get hands-on experience in the local media industry.

Responsibilities

Step into the shoes of a producer, MMJ, meteorologist, or media sales executive and handle real-world assignments.
Create content for social media, streaming apps, and web stories.
Collaborate with seasoned veterans in the media industry.
Dedicate 25 hours per week for 10 weeks to mastering a specialty and building a professional-grade portfolio.
Tell stories that matter to the community or help local businesses grow.
Position yourself for full-time career opportunities within Gray Media’s network.
