About The Position

The Communications team at the University of Virginia School of Data Science is seeking a talented and motivated graphic design coordinator. This position reports to the Creative Manager and will be integral in supporting the design needs for the school. The Graphic Design Coordinator will assist with designing a suite of print, digital, and social media marketing pieces, the rollout of a digital asset management platform, Photoshelter, and branded template creation, photo management and brand consistency. This is a hybrid position with one day a week in-person in the office.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required
2+ years relevant experience required
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva
A solid understanding of core design principles like color theory, typography, layout, composition, hierarchy, alignment, balance, and visual communication
The capability to understand the request, identify challenges, and creatively develop effective solutions that meet project goals and client requirements
Meticulousness and accuracy in executing design elements, ensuring precision in typography, alignment, color consistency, and overall design quality
Teamwork and collaboration skills
