About The Position

This is a part-time (19 hours) position ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. It is typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework. The role involves assisting students with technical questions on design programs, helping them print assignments, and maintaining the lab in a clean and inspiring working condition. A visual arts major is preferred.

Requirements

Lower Division Courses Completed
3 Months of Directly Relevant Experience
Knowledge of design programs including Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Glyphs app, and After Effects.
Ability to troubleshoot design programs.
Ability to maintain supplies including paper, ink, and toner.
Ability to perform light maintenance duty in the lab such as dusting and straightening the equipment.
Ability to help students print their assignments.
Ability to confer with clients to discuss and determine layout design.
Ability to create designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.

Nice To Haves

Visual arts major preferred.

Responsibilities
