About The Position

This position reports to the Executive Director (ED) and does not have supervisory responsibilities. The Grants and Special Projects Coordinator is a multi-functional role that partners closely with senior leadership to advance strategic initiatives, secure funding, and support organizational growth. This position leads grant writing and reporting, coordinates special projects, and provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Executive Director, Sponsors Consulting Program, and Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated success in grant writing and management, including securing and managing philanthropic and governmental grants of different sizes
  • Experience working with senior leadership or supporting executive level functions preferred
  • Experience overseeing grants from application through award management and reporting, with a proven ability to ensure compliance and prepare accurate, timely grant reports.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate program outcomes into compelling funding proposals.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with funders, clients and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently with a proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented approach
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and project management skills, with strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic research skills
  • Experience developing and using data tools such as forms, surveys and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge and understanding of barriers faced by individuals with conviction histories
  • Commitment to and alignment with Sponsors mission
  • Ability to work effectively with staff from a wide variety of backgrounds, beliefs and life experiences
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar products
  • Successful candidates for this position cannot be on active supervision with Parole and Probation.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the ED, identify grants and other funding opportunities that meet organizational priorities
  • Develop and maintain annual grant funding plan that supplements the agency’s operating budget
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records for past, current and prospective grants
  • Write, submit and manage grant applications from federal, state, local and foundation sources
  • Coordinate with Finance Director and other grant-associated staff to ensure compliance with grant requirements, timelines and deliverables
  • Prepare and submit all required grant reports
  • Serve as primary point of contact with funding agencies and grantors
  • Develop and support internal communication channels that promote information sharing and organizational alignment
  • Create and edit documents, presentations, and materials that are consistent with Sponsors’ brand, voice and visual standards
  • Manage special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned, exercising judgment, discretion and attention to detail
  • Serve as first point of contact for Sponsors Reentry Consulting Program
  • Support the expansion of Sponsors Reentry Consulting Program
  • Provide support and coordination for onsite workshops and individualized consulting
  • Support the development of consulting proposals, scopes of work, and deliverables in consultation with the Executive Director
  • Coordinate Sponsors team and external collaborators as appropriate
  • Track program data, analyze program outcomes and client feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Board of Directors
  • Coordinate board communications, meeting materials and logistics
