About The Position

The Town of Fort Myers Beach is hiring a Grants Manager to administer municipal projects funded by federal, state, county, and other grant sources throughout the grant lifecycle, from funding research and award acceptance through project implementation, reimbursement, closeout, and post-closeout compliance. The position works under the general direction of the Finance Director and partners with department directors, who manage the technical delivery of projects, to ensure grant-funded capital improvements, infrastructure, facility renovations, resilience, hazard mitigation, disaster recovery, and community development projects remain compliant and funded. Programs may include CDBG, CDBG-DR, FEMA, other HUD programs, and Lee County Tourist Development Council funding. The Grants Manager coordinates project scope, schedules, budgets, procurement, contracts, consultants, and contractors; maintains grant records and tracking systems; supports financial coordination and reimbursement; and ensures timely reporting to Town leadership and funding agencies. The role administers applicable federal requirements, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and may address environmental review, labor standards, civil rights, income eligibility, procurement, and other cross-cutting requirements. It also supports emergency preparedness and disaster recovery grant administration. The position has no supervisory responsibilities but provides grant-compliance guidance to Town staff and functional direction to consultants, contractors, and subrecipients. Work is performed in office and outdoor or field settings, including active construction sites and varied weather conditions. The role requires regular attendance at meetings and may include evening Town Council meetings. During emergency activations, irregular schedules and extended hours—including around-the-clock work for several days on short notice—may be required. The Town offers health insurance, employer-paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, gym membership reimbursement, paid leave, sick leave, a birthday benefit, 14 paid holidays, and immediate vesting in a 401(a)/457(b) pension plan with employer contributions.
