About The Position

Empirical Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Grants Management Specialist to join their team. This role involves leading and supporting the full lifecycle of grant management, from application development to closeout, within the financial management services sector. The specialist will manage grant lifecycles, monitor expenditures for compliance, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless operations. The company emphasizes innovation, knowledge sharing, and staying informed on evolving grant regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Minimum 6 years of experience managing grants from application to closeout
  • Strong knowledge of federal grant regulations (2 CFR 200)
  • Skilled in grant budgeting, application development, and account reconciliation
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and multiple funding streams (federal, state, local)
  • Proficient in grant management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to innovation and teamwork
  • Tech-savvy and eager to share knowledge and promote continuous learning
  • Ability to pass a federal background check; U.S. Citizenship may be required for some engagements

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full grant lifecycle—from application and budgeting to closeout
  • Monitor expenditures for compliance with 2 CFR 200 and agency-specific guidelines
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable
  • Collaborate with program teams on grant applications, budgets, and documentation
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify compliance issues with recommended solutions
  • Maintain accurate records in grant management systems
  • Coordinate with finance, program, and compliance teams for seamless operations
  • Provide responsive, service-oriented support to internal and external stakeholders
  • Foster innovation, share knowledge, and contribute to a collaborative team culture
  • Stay informed on evolving grant regulations and funding opportunities
