About The Position

The Grants Director manages grants personnel and departmental operations while exercising independent judgment in establishing priorities, recommending funding strategies, and implementing process improvements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of seven years’ work experience in philanthropy or in the nonprofit sector in a grant writing capacity
Demonstrated experience in database management systems or comparable electronic grants management systems
Strong knowledge of computer applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including chart preparation
Effective Internet search skills
Ability to learn new programs and software

Familiarity with community health and/or gerontology

Responsibilities

Develop and execute grant funding strategies to support the organization's mission and objectives.
Identify new funding opportunities and cultivate relationships with potential funders.
Strengthen existing funder relationships to ensure continued support and collaboration.
Direct the overall performance of the Grants Office, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Manage grants personnel, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
Utilize database management systems or comparable electronic grants management systems to track and manage grant activities.
Implement process improvements to optimize grant management and reporting.
Collaborate with other departments to align grant strategies with organizational goals and initiatives.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to promote the agency's mission and funding needs.
Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in grants management and philanthropy.
