About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting in the development of grant proposals and managing the grants process to raise funds for the organization. The Grants Coordinator will assemble grant material packages, ensure the accuracy of grant documents, coordinate follow-up reports, maintain organized records of grant applications and awards, and update the grants calendar. The role involves coordinating discussions with program staff, preparing notes for proposals, drafting and editing proposals, and responding to grant questions within deadlines. The position requires adherence to the organization's Christian principles and professional conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferably in English, writing, or an appropriate field.
  • One to three years of related work experience in fundraising.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must meet TSA MVR Requirements.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
  • Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints.
  • Ability to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles.
  • Ability to conduct all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Ability to travel to various locations (around the DMV) in order to participate in meetings at Corps/Social Service Centers, community meetings, conferences, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing well-researched and written grant proposals.
  • Manage the grants process to raise funds that will sustain and expand programs.
  • Assemble pertinent grant material packages for final submission.
  • Ensure overall accuracy and quality of grant documents.
  • Coordinate the completion and submission of required follow-up reports.
  • Keep organized records of grant applications, award documentation, and reports.
  • Update and maintain the grants calendar.
  • Coordinate discussions with Program staff to vet potential funding opportunities.
  • Prepare notes based on previous research and recommendations from similar past grants.
  • Draft customized, relevant proposals and edit current material to create robust, cohesive responses.
  • Develop and edit substantive and persuasive responses to unique or challenging grant questions while operating within specified deadlines.
