Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking a Grants and Foundation Relations Manager to help secure funding that supports behavioral health services across Kitsap County. This role works closely with leaders throughout the organization to pursue funding for current programs, new initiatives, and future growth. The position combines strategy, relationship-building, project management, and proposal development. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, communications, business administration, public administration, nonprofit management, public health, social sciences, or related discipline.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in grant development, grant management, institutional giving, fund development, public administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success developing competitive grant proposals for government agencies, foundations, corporate funders, or other institutional funding sources.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects involving diverse stakeholders, competing deadlines, and organizational priorities.
  • Experience using grant management systems, databases, or similar tracking tools.
  • This role may occasionally require travel between KMHS worksites or to grant-related meetings Incumbent must meet all agency driving requirements, including being at least 21 years old, having been licensed for a minimum of three years, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver’s license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of government, foundation, corporate, and institutional funding opportunities through all stages of the grant lifecycle.
  • Research and evaluate funding opportunities that align with agency priorities, strategic goals, and operational capacity.
  • Lead development, coordination, and submission of competitive grant proposals and supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, Finance, program leaders, Communications, Quality, Facilities, and other departments throughout the grant process.
  • Develop and maintain grant management systems, calendars, templates, tracking tools, and records.
  • Monitor grant awards, compliance requirements, reporting deadlines, and post-award activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding partners.
  • Develop and maintain organizational content, data, outcomes, and supporting materials used in grant applications and reports.
  • Monitor funding trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Partner with the Director of Philanthropy to support a coordinated institutional funding strategy.
  • Ensure all grant activities meet funder requirements, agency policies, and ethical standards.
