About The Position

This is a limited-term position through June 30, 2030, contingent on available grant funding. Under general direction, the Grants Administrator plans, supervises, trains, and coordinates staff responsible for implementing, monitoring, and reporting on a grant portfolio related to community development grant programs. This role involves coordinating activities with other City departments, divisions, and outside agencies, and providing highly responsible and complex administrative support to department management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in planning, public administration, business administration, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional progressively responsible experience in the development, delivery, monitoring, or evaluation of complex administrative programs/projects.
  • At least one (1) year of supervision experience.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the capabilities to perform the described duties.
  • Possession of a valid California Class “C” driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, supervises, and coordinates the activities of assigned staff responsible for implementing grant activities and all related reporting requirements.
  • Facilitates project meetings, documents project decisions, progress, and next steps.
  • Confers with stakeholders and grant partners to ensure programs/applications meet requested objectives.
  • Creates and documents long-term strategies for project related operations.
  • Develops and supervises the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for housing, homeless, community development programs and grants.
  • Ensures effective communication between stakeholders, and internal and external partners.
  • Prepares grant revisions, amendments, and/or extensions as deemed necessary.
  • Continuously monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures.
